When I built The Palmier Foundation, my goal was to improve the lives of those in need, giving back to the community in any way that I could.

This is why I’m thrilled to have been given the opportunity to donate $16,000 to The Children and Athletes Regenerative MEDicine (CHARMED) Foundation, a non-profit organization whose goal is to discover new ways to help the body heal itself in order to save children’s lives and extend athletes’ careers.

Our current healthcare system focuses many of its resources, including biomedical engineering, on medical problems found in older adults. Even though our youth represent nearly a quarter of the population here in the United States, there is a large gap in pediatric health technology advancements. This is a problem that especially affects athletes, many of whom make up part of the young patient population, as they are particularly vulnerable to musculoskeletal and brain injuries due to the high demands that are placed on their bodies.

The CHARMED Foundation works collaboratively with leading scientists, bioengineers, and clinicians, to utilize and rapidly improve regenerative medicine therapies that are designed to assist with the functional needs of children and athletes. The CHARMED Foundation is expected to transform the pediatric healthcare system and improve the availability of safe and effective regenerative medicine therapies for children and athletes within 10 years.

The CHARMED Foundation works with inspirational athletes like baseball great, David Ortiz, to inspire young patients

The CHARMED Foundation’s mission and their talented team of researchers and clinicians will help our youth in need, and I am so happy to contribute to this effort. There is great potential for pediatric healthcare technologies to provide societal economic benefits, and to improve long-term quality of life. Thanks to the CHARMED foundation, this potential continues to grow.

I look forward to continuing my work with organizations similar to the CHARMED Foundation that aim to better our society.
